When Göteborgs Spårvägar sought to upgrade their uniform, we designed workwear specifically for the people that represent the brand on a daily basis: traffic controllers and tram drivers. With a focus on flexibility, practical solutions, and a more modern appearance, a collection was created in which function meets a clear identity.
– The customer had conducted an extensive internal survey ahead of their latest collection, where the drivers' requests for a practical and comfortable uniform became guiding, says Lotta Lindgren, Key Account Manager at Ted Bernhardtz.

Function on the MoveA new standard for everyday life
After many years of collaboration, it was time to take the next step in development: a uniform perfectly designed for everyday life on the tracks. Previous blazers and suit pants were replaced with more casual garments, designed to handle changes in pace and long shifts. – It was important to create a collection that not only looked modern but also suited a workday filled with movement and different environments, says Lotta Lindgren. In the fall of 2022, the new collection was launched, with approximately 16,000 garments delivered to tram drivers and traffic control. Today, the deliveries amount to approximately 10,000 garments per year.
Collaboration in every step
In the development of the new uniform, the focus was on close and responsive collaboration. The requirements from the drivers and the organisation were addressed early on, and a flexible process made it possible to quickly adjust and adapt along the way. – The collaboration and the fast deliveries have been crucial, and we have appreciated how flexible Ted Bernhardtz has been when changes have been needed, says a representative from Göteborgs Spårvägar. The result is a collection that enhances both well-being and efficiency in a workday that never stands still.
From the first to the last stop
For Göteborgs Spårvägar, clothing is required to work just as well in the cabin as on the platform. Therefore, freedom of movement, modern cuts, and materials that maintain comfort throughout the entire workday were prioritised. With the new collection, Ted Bernhardtz offers uniforms that combine durability and flexibility – designed to withstand the city's rhythm from the very first to the last stop.
